GRAAANN–OOO-LLAAA. That’s a fun word to say. Ha! I love to eat granola with milk, over yogurt and fresh fruit, or over a smoothie in a bowl with some honey drizzled over the top. Making granola is kind of relaxing to me too. I hope you enjoy!
-Nutty Lynn’s Crunchy Granola-
Pre-heat oven to 275.
Mix all of the following into a large bowl:
5 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup yellow raisins
1/2 cup wheatgerm
1 tablespoon ground flax-seed
Set the aside
In a separate small glass bowl mix the following:
1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup water
Place in microwave on high for 4-5 minutes. Cook until sugar is dissolved. Remove from microwave a mix in:
5 teaspoons of vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Pour over dry ingredients. Mix until everything is covered with liquid. Then place a piece of tin foil on a large cookie sheet and spread granola over it evenly.
Cook at 275 degrees for 45 minutes -1 hour. Leave on cookie sheet to cool, then store in an airtight container.
Eat and Enjoy!
