It might be safe to say that I love gallery walls….I love art and I have been collecting art and frames for years. Ask my husband. He’ll just shake his head. Let’s just say it’s a good thing I don’t live by Aaron Brothers frame store anymore. That Penny Sale gets me every time!!
I have so many plans for this playroom- in my brain, that will probably never happen…. BUT! Fun plans none the less. First thing on my check list was hanging all my fun colorful art. I want to surround my kids with art, like hug them with it! Everyone needs art in their life (EXPLANATION POINT)!! ya feel me?!
Any-who, I have had some of this art since high school. I took at studio art class my senior year and when my friends created something awesome I’d ask for it. HA! I had rad friends. One of these friends from high school days had crazy talent, she still does. She went to FIDM for college….this girl needs to be on TV. You can find her on Instagram @misshollysue
She gave me these two paintings (above and below) The one below is called “The Bear”. If you look closely you can see a bear or two- or other animals if your imagination allows.
The art below “The Bear” is from Mallory, another art friend from high school days. This was torn tissue paper modge-podged onto a canvas. Mallory is another old friend I just adore and hold close to my heart. I’m not sure if she’s want me to share her IG…so I’ll er on the side of caution.
The Every freckle on my face quote is from an India Arie song. I made this with my kids using a tutorial I found on Pinterest years ago….and now I can’t find it!! I’d love to give credit to the awesome person that thought this up…
It was a super simple project. I let my kids paint the canvas like crazy people. I cut out letters on my Cricut machine out of vinyl and placed them on the dried canvas. After the paint was dry I pulled the letters off and waalaa! Cheap art! I’m sure you have seen this on Pinterest like 50 times.
This “There is magic in these moments” print is from an Etsy store and IG’er, Melanie Sheppard. Her store is called Mod by Mel, you can find it HERE. OR check her out on IG @Modbymel She sales hilarious cards too, I love them all!!
I bought this owl from a new baby store near my house. It’s called The Baby Cubby. They also have a website you can buy from. The owl is a wheatpaste poster. It’s awesome!! It peels off like vinyl, but has a bit more texture than vinyl. It is great if you’re a renter- less holes in the wall and it leaves no trace! Check out other fun wheatpaste posters HERE
The clip boards were spray painted and I took pictures of my kids with my fish eye lens. They think these pictures are hilarious.
The “hello”, “be awesome today”, “children at play”, the USA silhouette, and the key silhouette are from my awesome friend Katie over at Just Add Sunshine. You can find her Etsy store HERE. She is a crazy sign maker and has TONS of great crafty ideas.
I found the LOL at a Store in San Diego called The Urban Barn. The sea horse painting I did as a gift to my husband before we were married. It has bounced around rooms in our house. I think it’s finally found it’s perfect spot! I want to get prints made of it….but I gotta figure that out first.
The ABC print was a free printable from another awesome lady I follow on IG @cinsarah On Cindy’s blog you can find these free prints in a few different color options. You can find that HERE.
I couldn’t have put this wall together if it wasn’t for my good friend Whitney. She has amazing artist and interior design talent. You can find out more about her on her blog – The Rooster and The Hen.
Make and enjoy art!
