Over the past few months I have been thinking a lot about a post Chari, the owner of Persnickety Prints, wrote on her Instagram feed. It was about not letting our pictures just sit in our computer, but getting them printed and actually ENJOYING them. My kids LOVE seeing pictures of themselves and I love watching their faces when they see a picture of themselves. It’s pretty great to watch their eye’s light up as they remember a fun activity we did together or a see a silly face that was captured. So when working on Charlie and Beck’s room I knew I needed to have a place for them to display some photos.
My father in law brought me this great piece of 100+ year old wood from a family barn in Idaho. I use this and some of the awesome hardware from the Liberty line in Home Depot. I pre-drilled holes equal distances apart and started to screw in my silver pulls.
Tip! a piece of reclaimed wood can vary in it’s thickness by quite a bit. Instead of going out and trying to find the right size screws to match, use washers to get the right length. If you don’t have access to some fun reclaimed barn would, you could do this with an old fence board that is weathered. Or a new fence board painted a fun color.
This was hands down the easiest DIY project I did in the room. These pulls are perfect for hanging some cute ribbon from. I found my little black clothes pins from Target and had all my cute square prints made at Persnickety Prints.
Go on girl, GET CRAFTY WITH YOUR BAD SELF!
