Scrolling, scrolling….. Bam!! Inspiration lights up my brain. This beautiful art work I saw on Pinterest from Papirolas Coloridas Blog totally inspired me to create a Valentines Day craft.
I had an old Ikea frame that I used to use for Halloween decorations. I haven’t used it in years and it reminded me so much of this picture I thought it was the perfect piece to use.
Ikea has a newer version of this frame that would also work great for this craft. You can find it HERE.
I spray painted my frame with a deep plum color from Rustoleum. Don’t you love spray paint!?! I am not sure I could live without it.
I then found these little blue birds and a bunch of flowers from Hobby Lobby and a few flowers from JoAnn Fabrics. You can find the birds I used by clicking HERE. I did add a little paint to their wings so they would match my inspiration picture better.
The birds also needed a top hat for the male bird and the female bird needed flowers on her head.
I made a little top hat out of felt. You can buy these on Amazon….but they are like $3-$5 Yuck! Those should be like 25 cents. It seriously took like 1 minute to make with some black felt… don’t buy one.
I simply looked back and forth at my inspiration picture and started hot gluing flowers onto my frame. After I was happy with my flowers I hot glued the birds on.
This would be a lovely nap time craft! It didn’t take long at all. And it is just so dang cute!!
I hung it on my front door and I am pretty happy about it!
PssSSSsssstttt! All the plants on my front porch are fake…hahahaha! I just can’t seem to keep anything alive right here, so fakey route I went. And although this slightly makes me feel like an 80 year old grandma who plants fake flowers in her yard, I am also kind of proud of my fake plant arrangement. HAHA! All my fake plants are from Hobby Lobby.
SSSSshhhhh! Just don’t tell anyone they are fake….we’ll see who we can fool.
Oh! and it you are wondering about my cute reclaimed wood planter box. I made it and you could too! One of my favorite blogger buddies has a tutorial that I used. It is super simple to follow, even for a first time power tool user (you got this). It would be a great weekend DIY! Head over to Mysha’s blog – Remington Avenue to find this tutorial. Click HERE!
