Storing Holiday decorations can be a pain, especially if they are on the larger size. These deer don’t have that problem! They collapse and lay flat for storage. SAWEET!! Simply slide the legs off and antlers off and you can store to use again for next year. Another bonus is that these deer where cheap and easy to make. You can do this!
I made these deer with two sheets of plywood, a jigsaw, and a sharpie!
I drew these out onto the plywood with a sharpie then got to cutting with my jigsaw. This is the first time I have used a Ryobi jigsaw. My old jigsaw broke recently (after lots of use!) and so we thought we would try out this brand. I am still deciding if I love it as much as my old jigsaw or not, but it worked pretty great for this project.
Getting crafty with my bad self!! Hahaha….I am a dork!
So a tip I love to share with people when using a jigsaw for the first time is to…. 1. Make sure your jigsaw is pressed against the wood all the way 2. When you start to cut, keep your finger holding the trigger all the way so the blade is going as fast as possible. 3. Move the blade fast but move your hand gliding the saw slow. You are in control, not the saw!
Sometimes it is easier to cut wide around a detailed area (like in the picture above) when you are using a large sheet of wood. Then once you have cut off some excess, go in closer to make your cuts.
And if you are not comfortable hand drawing out a pattern I highly recommend using a projector to help. I like to use the Prism Art Projector on my projects- CLICK HERE

You can see how I used a jigsaw and the projector to make another fun holiday project in this post- “My Christmas Mantle and DIY Rudolph”

Didn’t know where I had to push “like” but I certainly “liked”. Actually I “loved”! Great work!
