I love decorating for holidays! You might have gathered that already… haha! I am kinda nuts about holidays, just ask ‘The Beard.’ He’ll probably just smirk and say we have too many decorations, but I know deep down he loves that I decorate and make it fun for the family. He did count my garlands the other day…I smirked at him and said, “You like it.” Ha!
I love bright cheery colors and glitter AND anything with a vintage feel. Nothing is safe, I decorate the WHOLE house! Even our chicken coop got a little decor this year.
I truly love the holidays. I love the meaning of Christmas, the focus we have on our Savior’s birth and how that brings us to take time to think of others and give more. It is a special time of year that always gives me a sweet time to reflect on life.
I love BIG bows during Christmas time…I am not sure why. They just make me happy! So I put bows on lots of things. You just can’t go wrong with a giant bow in my book. And the pop of red on my yellow door is joyful every time I pull into my driveway and see it. I love to have a fun and happy porch for people to enjoy as they come visit too.
I love Santa’s jolly demeanor and like to have Santa’s all over my home. I search for vintage Santa’s all year at thrift stores and vintage markets.
It is fun for me to find new ways to use my old decorations each year, mixing them with new finds or new DIY projects. The lace garlands around my home are all handmade from thrifted curtains. I really feel like you can’t have too many garlands at Christmas time. The more the merrier!!
